Nagpur: A wave of panic swept through the Bhandewadi area of Nagpur on Wednesday morning after a leopard was spotted inside a second-floor flat of a residential building. Its sudden appearance left residents shocked, drawing a large crowd and prompting an immediate call for assistance. Authorities are yet to determine how the wild animal entered the city, with no clues available so far.
Locals quickly alerted the Help for Animal Welfare Association Nagpur, whose team rushed to the location and confirmed the presence of the leopard. The incident was subsequently reported to Nagpur District Wildlife Warden Ajinkya Bhatkar and the TTC Centre to initiate rescue measures.
The unexpected intrusion has once again highlighted the rising instances of wildlife straying into urban spaces. Rescue teams worked to secure the area and ensure the safety of both the residents and the animal, while officials began examining possible routes the leopard might have taken.
