Nagpur: Koradi police have registered a cheating case against two individuals for allegedly selling a four-acre plot of partnership land without authorization, causing an estimated loss of ₹20 crore to a 71-year-old partner.
According to the complaint, the victim, Bachittarsingh Kapursingh Tuli (71), a resident of Clark Town, Jaripatka, is one of the partners in a four-acre landholding under the firm Tuli & Sons located at Mouza Bokhara, Plot No. 12A, Khasra No. 134, within Koradi Police Station limits. His brothers — Gurulalsingh Tuli, Indrajitsingh Tuli, Dalipsingh Tuli and Mohabbatsingh Tuli — were also partners in the firm. The family has reportedly been engaged in a longstanding dispute over partnership matters. Two of the brothers, Gurulalsingh and Indrajitsingh, passed away in 2020 and 2023, respectively.
Police said that between April 1, 2007, and January 23, 2025, accused No. 1, Sardar Mohabbatsingh Kapursingh Tuli (83), resident of Bokhara near Tuli Public School, allegedly colluded with accused No. 2, Sardar Ravinderpalsingh Gurulalsingh Tuli (61), of Kadbi Chowk, Nagpur, to illegally sell the firm’s four-acre land. Despite having no legal authority to execute the sale, the duo allegedly misused a power of attorney and sold the property for ₹9.85 lakh without the complainant’s consent.
The complainant claimed that the accused betrayed his trust and defrauded him of nearly ₹20 crore, the current estimated market value of the land.
Based on the enquiry into the complaint, Koradi Police, under PSI Vinod Jonkar, have booked the accused under Sections 318(4), 316(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
