In a significant move against unrecognised educational institutions, district authorities in Hingna tehsil have closed an unauthorised school after receiving a formal complaint from the Education Department. The Brilliant English School at Wanadongri was ordered to stop operations following directives from the District Child Welfare Committee, which acted on evidence provided by education officials.
A preliminary inquiry conducted by the Education Department had documented the school’s academic activities and forwarded its findings to the Committee. Subsequently, a joint inspection team visited the premises to review admission records, attendance registers, infrastructure and safety compliance.
The inspection revealed multiple violations: the school operated without Government recognition or registration, did not possess a UDISE number and lacked all mandatory documents required for running an educational institution. Officials also reported that the building had no child-safety measures in place.
Given the extent of the irregularities, the Child Welfare Committee ordered the immediate closure of the school and initiated steps to shift enrolled students to Government-recognised institutions.
During the visit, the inspection team also met with parents, urging them to check a school’s recognition status, UDISE number and safety arrangements before admitting their children.
