Special Program on ‘World Disability Day’
Nagpur, December 2
On the occasion of World Disability Day, the Samadrishti Capacity Development and Research Board (Saksham), Nagpur, and The Blind Relief Association, in collaboration with the Shri Sant Gulabrao Maharaj Braille Book Production Center, will release the first Braille books based on Architecture on December 3.
Two works authored by Goa’s renowned architect and writer, Shri Jaywant Fondu Dhond—“Manasara-Swayamsthapati” and “Vastusagar” have been transcribed into Braille. These books aim to provide visually impaired individuals with knowledge of Vastu Shastra. A unique feature is that the illustrations are also presented in Braille. This pioneering effort by Jaywant Fondu Dhond has opened a new gateway for the visually impaired.
The program will be held at Navdrishti Auditorium, B. R. A. Mundale School premises, South Ambazari Road, Nagpur, at 4:30 PM on December 3. The event will be chaired by Makrand Pandharipande, President of The Blind Relief Association. Dr. Krishnakumar Pandey, Director of Kavikulaguru Sanskrit University, will be the chief guest. Shri Jaywant Fondu Dhond (Goa) will be present as the guest of honor. In addition, Abhay Prabhu, President of Saksham Goa, and Dr. Milind Hardas, President of Saksham Nagpur Metropolitan, will also attend.
