Joy to the World…the King is born, Charvahe nache jhumke, Tera ho abhishek……..,along with many other songs were sung by children and Parishners of St. Vincent Pallotti Mass Centre, under Ajni Parish, Nagpur, who went around singing, dancing, beating drums in the Christmas Carols, spreading the message of peace, love and togetherness with Santa Claus, to all the houses of all their Parish members of Beltarodi, Besa, Hudkeshwar, Pipla, Wardha Road and MIHAN areas in 5 days starting from 18th to 22nd Dec. 2025.
The Children and elders, sprouting red cone caps, 40 to 50 in numbers moved on, in their own vehicles with enthusiasm and in joyful mood starting from 6.00 pm every day. Hindi & English songs, Jhanan Jhanan.. Ghoongroo baje… Oh ho ho…and Jingle bells.. Jingle Bells.. ware hit among children…. Verses from Bible was read out in each house, singing and wishing them Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Each house made sure that all ate cakes and snacks served by them, after the singing.
Fr. Joseph Koovely, Parish Priest and also Principal of St Vincent Palloti School, Besa, explained, “The spiritual significance of Carol singing lies in its joyful proclamation of Jesus birth. Songs like, ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Oh Holy Night’ recall the insights to Christianity and serve as prayers of gratitude for God’s gift to humanity.” For the Catholic community, it is a way of, “Rejoicing the birth of Christ,” He added.
