The entire election machinery of Nagpur Municipal Corporation is ready for the general elections. To prevent any irregularities in the voting to be held on January 15, stationary surveillance teams have been deployed at various places in the city. As per the guidelines of the State Election Commission, the teams will check the transportation of cash , liquor and prohibited substances used to influence voters. Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Mrs. Vaishnavi B. and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Milind Meshram inspected the work of the SST team on Thursday (Date 25).
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has implemented a model code of conduct for the 2025 general elections. Against this backdrop, the Municipal Corporation has deployed a permanent surveillance team at various locations in the city to prevent any temptations and various malpractices that may affect voters.
The fixed surveillance team will inspect suspicious four-wheelers and other vehicles. They will also take video footage during the inspection. During this inspection, the surveillance team will monitor whether there is more cash in the vehicle than the permission given for the election , and whether illegal stocks of liquor are being carried in the vehicle . Apart from this, if cash exceeding the limit is found in the vehicle of a political party, they will be required to inform the fixed surveillance team about the source of the money.
The election administration has deployed fixed surveillance teams at Hingna Road, Wardha Road, Shivangaon, Airport Road, Jaytala Road etc. under Laxminagar Zone. These teams have been deployed at Katol Naka , Sitabardi Police Station , Manas Chowk , Amravati Road Naka under Dharampeth Zone. Apart from this , fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Hudkeshwar Naka , Besa Road Naka in Hanuman Nagar Zone.
In Dhantoli zone , fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Beltarodi Road Naka , S.T. Bus Stand Ganeshpeth. Along with this, fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Dighori Road Naka in Nehrunagar zone. Fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Sitabardi Railway Station , East Didodia Dwar in Gandhibag zone. Fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Marwadi Chowk , Itwari Railway Station in Satranjipura zone. Apart from this, fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Chhawani Road and Uppalwadi Chowki in Ashinagar zone. Fixed surveillance teams have been deployed at Chhindwara Road Naka in Tuesday zone
