In the aftermath of a deadly late-night incident, city police have temporarily sealed Dabo Club on Wardha Road, declaring it a crime scene in connection with a recent fatal clash that has raised serious concerns over law and order.
Confirming the action, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone I, Rushikesh Reddy, said the premises were sealed with immediate effect as the location is directly linked to a serious criminal offence. He added that the decision on allowing the club to resume operations would be taken only after a detailed review of its past record, noting that multiple incidents had previously been reported at the same venue.
The move follows a violent altercation after a late-night Christmas celebration near the club, in which one youth was killed and another sustained critical injuries. The incident has sparked widespread concern over safety at nightlife hotspots operating late into the night.
Meanwhile, as a preventive measure ahead of New Year’s Eve, police have also ordered the closure of all rooftop party venues across Nagpur, citing the absence of mandatory permissions. “No rooftop parties will be allowed for New Year celebrations,” DCP Reddy said, warning of strict action against violators.
Police have planned intensified night patrols, checks and surveillance across the city during the festive period to prevent untoward incidents. Officials said the sealing of Dabo Club and the blanket ban on rooftop parties send a clear message that public safety and law and order will not be compromised, even during peak celebration season.
