Nagpur: Wadi Police have arrested two persons after a youth was found uploading videos of himself flaunting a firearm on social media, allegedly to intimidate the public. Acting on reliable inputs, the Wadi police investigation team apprehended Jaggarajsingh alias Parassingh Bajwa (20), a resident of Dattawadi, at around 11 am on January 2.
Examination of the accused’s mobile phone revealed multiple videos showing him holding a firearm. During interrogation, Bajwa disclosed that the weapon had been procured from his maternal uncle, Sarvansingh Kattarsingh Randhawa (45), a resident of Talegaon in Wardha district.
A police team subsequently raided Randhawa’s residence and seized a pistol along with a magazine, collectively valued at approximately Rs 30,000. Both accused were taken into custody and booked at Wadi police station under Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act for violating prohibitory orders. Further investigation is ongoing.
