As many as 22 trains running between Pune and Nagpur have been cancelled till January 26, 2026, due to railway line doubling work between Daund and Manmad. Key services such as the Pune–Nagpur Express, Humsafar Express and Garib Rath Express are among those affected, causing major inconvenience to passengers who had planned travel between January 4 and January 25.
The disruption comes at a difficult time, with festivals like Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchami and Republic Day approaching, along with the ongoing wedding season. Thousands of passengers had already booked tickets on the busy Nagpur–Pune route to avoid last-minute trouble.
According to Central Railway officials, pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking works are underway between Daund and Kashti stations under the Pune Division. The work began on January 4 and will continue without interruption till January 25, 2026.
Due to this, over 30 trains on the Pune–Nagpur, Pune–Pandharpur and Pune–Amravati routes have been cancelled during the 22-day period, while several others have been diverted. The cancellations have severely impacted passengers, especially middle-class travellers, many of whom are now being forced to look for private buses and other alternative transport options.
The Nagpur–Pune–Nagpur route is among the busiest railway corridors, and the large-scale cancellations have dealt a major blow to travel plans across the region.
