Over the past two decades, Nagpur has undergone a remarkable transformation. A new 135-seater air-conditioned bus service will soon operate on the city’s Ring Road. The bus will run from Katol Road in West Nagpur and cover a distance of 52 kilometres, terminating at Gittikhadan Chowk. This announcement was made by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari was interacting with voters on Saturday while campaigning for Mahayuti candidates in West and North Nagpur ahead of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections. Public meetings were held at Gittikhadan Chowk and Hazari Pahad Chowk in West Nagpur, covering Ward Nos. 10, 12, 13 and 14, as well as at MHADA Colony in Ward No. 2 of North Nagpur.
Several BJP leaders were present at these public meetings, including city president Dayashankar Tiwari, MLC Advocate Parinay Fuke, former MLA Sudhakar Kohle, Kisan Gawande, Datta Khode, and Swapnil Khadgi.
Addressing the gatherings, Gadkari said that a 24-hour water supply scheme has been implemented in Nagpur and work to replace old pipelines is currently in progress. He noted that due to sustained improvements over the past 20 years, the city no longer faces water scarcity. He also highlighted that the quality of roads in Nagpur has improved significantly.
