Ahead of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) General Elections, the civic body has launched a new digital platform to help voters easily locate their polling stations and avoid confusion on voting day.
The facility has been developed by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Information and Technology Department and is available on the NMC website, chatbot, AI Mitra and the My Nagpur App. Addressing the media on January 12, Abhijeet Chaudhari, Commissioner and Election Officer, said the initiative aims to ensure that every voter reaches the correct booth without difficulty.
Officials said the voter list has expanded after the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, raising the possibility of changes in polling stations for some voters. To prevent confusion, the digital platform allows voters to search their booth using either their name (in Marathi or English) or EPIC/Voter ID number, along with the ward number.
Once details are entered, voters can view the polling station name, exact location on a map, and navigation directions from their home. The navigation link can also be shared easily.
Voters can also access the service via WhatsApp chatbot on 7397807397. The civic body has appealed to voters to use their EPIC number for faster and more accurate results.
