ORANGE City Water (OCW), in coordination with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), has announced a 30-hour shutdown of the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The shutdown will begin at 10 am on Monday, January 19, and continue till 4 pm on Tuesday, January 20.
The shutdown is required for essential maintenance work, including repair of leakages on the K900 feeder main near the GRC Training Centre and Eden Greens Resort, and installation of an end plate at the K1300–K900 interconnection.
Water supply will be disrupted in several areas across the city, including:
- Nandanvan–Tajbagh Zone: Nandanvan Layout, Rajendra Nagar, Hasanbagh, Venkatesh Nagar, Darshan Colony, Telephone Nagar and Tajbagh slum.
- Kharbi–Wathoda Zone: Aradhana Nagar, Snehal Nagar, New Sangam Nagar and Shriram Nagar.
- Shanti Nagar–Wanjri Zone: Kawrapeth, Marwadi Chowk, Vinoba Bhave Nagar and Vaishnodevi Nagar.
- Kalamna–Pardi Zone: Chitrashala Nagar, Bharatwada, Ashoka Nagar and Sharda Chowk.
- Bastarwadi–Lakadganj Zone: Lalganj, Itwari, Satranjipura and Garoba Maidan.
- Binaki–Indora Zone: Yashodhara Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Bara Kholi and Teka Naka.
- Bezonbagh–Uppalwadi Zone: Jaripatka Market, Sindhu Nagar, Uppalwadi Industrial Area and nearby localities.
Residents are advised to store adequate water in advance and use it sparingly during the shutdown period.
