In a citywide Republic Day crackdown on traffic violators, Nagpur Traffic Police booked 1,728 motorists for drunken driving and other offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
The special enforcement drive was conducted on January 26 at multiple checkpoints across the city. Traffic officials recovered a total of ?1,48,050 in fines from violators during the operation.
Police have appealed to motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations and carry all necessary vehicle documents while driving. Authorities confirmed that similar traffic enforcement drives will continue to improve road safety and discipline.
