Pachpaoli Police arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl in the area late Saturday night.
Police said the minor was returning home at around 10:00 pm on January 25 when the accused, Naushad Ayub Qureshi (35), approached her. He allegedly behaved in an obscene manner and committed acts intended to outrage her modesty.
The victim informed her family after reaching home, and a complaint was subsequently filed with police. A case has been registered under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
