Seminar on AI organized at AID-Advantage Vidarbha
Gen-Z has the potential to contribute significantly to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, said experts during a seminar on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence in Viksit Bharat 2047” and a Rotaract session held recently at the seminar was held in the main hall during the Advantage Vidarbha Audyogik Mahotsav, organized by the Association of Industrial Development.
Speakers from various eminent institutions pressed the need for Gen Z to meaningfully contribute to the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 by blending traditional values passed down through generations with modern technology. This balanced approach, they emphasized, can help achieve the national vision in a faster and more sustainable manner.
Rajan Pandhre from MAHA STRIDE, Nagpur Division, spoke about India’s first smart village, Satnavri. He explained that the AI-enabled village was developed over five years with capital expenditure support from the Government of Maharashtra. Key initiatives included agriculture drone farming, digitally calculated measurable pesticide-use equipment to promote precision farming.
Pramod Narayan Jumle, Director – Trainings, Board of Apprenticeship Training, Government of Maharashtra, and a senior panelist, shared practical insights on achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted that although India holds nearly 16% of the world’s AI talent and has a rapidly growing pool of over 600,000 AI professionals, demand for skills in AI, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and related domains continues to outpace supply. He raised concerns about the widening skills gap and emphasized the urgent need for upskilling in emerging technologies. As a solution, he stressed bridging the gap between theoretical academic curricula and dynamic industry requirements through structured apprenticeship programs.
Other distinguished panelists included Rahul Karangale, Principal Consultant, Infosys MIHAN; Dr. Smita Singh Dabholkar, Assistant Professor, IMT; and Shantanu Vishwanadha, Developer Relations APAC, Zencoder, Nagpur. The program was well coordinated by Pramod Pampatwar from Jhulelal Institute, Nagpur.
