Police have arrested a 47-year-old school headmaster in Yavatmal district for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl student, officials said on Monday.The accused, headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school in Ghatanji tehsil, allegedly assaulted the Class 7 student on two occasions — May 1, 2025, and February 5 this year — according to a complaint filed by the victim’s father on Saturday. He was arrested on Sunday.Police said the accused allegedly lured the girl with fruits and cosmetic items and threatened her with death if she disclosed the incidents to anyone.A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rape and criminal intimidation, along with charges of penetrative sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
