A 12-hour water supply shutdown has been scheduled in parts of North Nagpur on February 27, as the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and its operator OCW undertake valve installation work at Nari and Jaripatka Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs).
According to NMC–OCW, the shutdown will remain in effect from 10 am to 10 pm to facilitate the installation of 400 mm and 700 mm diameter valves on distribution mains connected to the Nari and Jaripatka ESRs. The move is part of infrastructure strengthening to improve water distribution efficiency.
Water supply will be disrupted in Nara, Nari and Jaripatka consumer areas, including localities such as Om Nagar, Arya Nagar, Sahyog Nagar, Kamgar Nagar, Nari Gaon, Hudco Colony, Kabir Nagar, Indira Nagar, CMPDI, WCL, Pyramid City and several adjoining residential societies and colonies.
The civic body has appealed to residents in affected areas to store adequate water in advance and cooperate during the maintenance period. For assistance, consumers can contact the NMC–OCW helpline at 1800 266 9899 or email [email protected].
