The “Hastshilp Hathkargha Mela 2026” is currently underway at Mor Bhavan, Sitabuldi, hosted at the Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan premises from March 10 to 19. The handloom and handicraft fair has been drawing a strong response from visitors across the city.
Organised by the Madhya Pradesh Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation, the event showcases the rich craftsmanship of Bundelkhand artisans. A special workshop held earlier this week featured senior weavers including Mohammad Raza, Md. Naseef, Tegbahadur Sujan Sharma, and others, under the guidance of Exhibition In-Charge Arvind Sharma.
The initiative focuses on supporting artisans from Bundelkhand by enhancing production opportunities and providing direct market access, thereby strengthening handloom-based livelihoods. Visitors can explore a wide range of products from Madhya Pradesh, including Chanderi and Waraseoni textiles, silk fabrics, and handlooms from regions such as Sausar and Khwati. Around 45–50 artisans are participating, offering their creations directly to customers.
The fair is open daily from 12 noon to 9 pm, with free entry and parking facilities available. “The aim is to create employment opportunities for artisans while bringing quality handcrafted products to the people of Nagpur,” said Arvind Sharma.
For more details, visitors can contact Arvind Sharma at 9826840108 or 9826492411. The exhibition continues until March 19 and offers a vibrant glimpse into India’s traditional handloom and handicraft heritage.
