The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has extended the deadline for online applications under Phase 2 of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana till April 15, offering relief to eligible beneficiaries from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The housing project, comprising 518 affordable units, will be developed in the Mouza-Nari area.
The extension aims to provide more time for citizens to apply and fulfill their dream of owning a house. The project includes 210 units of 1 BHK (350.37 sq ft) and 308 units of 2 BHK (484.38 sq ft). The 1 BHK units are priced at ?15.51 lakh, while the 2 BHK units will cost ?21.01 lakh. Beneficiaries will also be eligible for a government subsidy of ?2.5 lakh under the scheme.
The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Mayor Nita Thakre and supervision of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Itankar. Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes will be applicable as per government norms.
To be eligible, applicants must be residents within NMC limits, should not own a permanent house anywhere in India, must have an annual family income below ?3 lakh, and should not have availed benefits of any government housing scheme in the last 20 years.
