Acting on a tip-off, Ganeshpeth Police conducted a late-night raid at a hotel room in the city and detained a trader along with two women. The police had received information about a suspected sex racket operating from the premises. However, by late night, no formal case had been registered and questioning of the individuals was still underway.
According to sources, the trader, identified as a resident of the Gittikhadan area who runs a business near Ghat Road, was found in the hotel room with the two women. The raid was carried out at Hotel Silver Nest located on Ghat Road following specific inputs about alleged illegal activities being conducted through intermediaries.No Confirmation of Sex Racket YetPolice officials stated that while the raid was conducted based on suspicion of a sex racket, no confirmation has been established so far.
All three individuals were brought to the police station for questioning. Ganeshpeth Police Station in-charge Atul Tawde said that the women claimed they had come to the hotel on their own will.Officials added that further investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings. Meanwhile, sources indicated that the accused may have been involved in such activities for a long time, but concrete evidence is yet to be established.
