In a significant step toward strengthening last-mile connectivity, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), is set to introduce a dedicated feeder bus service connecting Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station to key institutions in the Hingna area.
As first step towards this, a camp to initiate process for issuing Maha Card and NMC bus pass registration is scheduled to be organized at the College Premises tomorrow and the day after (7th & 8th April 2026). It has been observed that a substantial proportion of metro users comprise students and patients traveling to prominent institutions such as N. K. P. Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, along with Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Priyadarshini College of Engineering.
Interactions with students and patients, indicated a latent demand for a dedicated feeder service. The proposed route will operate from Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, covering G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Priyadarshini College of Engineering enroute, thereby improving accessibility for both students and patients by taking the students, patients right in the campus of the respective institutes.
This integrated initiative marks a major step toward enhancing multimodal connectivity and promoting seamless urban mobility in Nagpur.
