A total of nine nomination applications were filed on Wednesday for the selection of nominated members in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
Out of these, seven candidates were nominated by the ruling alliance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena, while two candidates submitted their nominations on behalf of the Nagpur Vikas Aghadi and Shiv Sena (UBT).
The applications were submitted to Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Itankar in the presence of Corporation Secretary Dr. Ranjana Lade.
From the BJP, Devendra Mehar, Vinod Baghel, Sanjay Thakre, Jitu Thakur, Ritesh Gawande and Subodh Acharya filed their nominations, while Suraj Goje represented Shiv Sena. Meanwhile, Ketan Thakre and Atul Kotecha filed their nominations from the Nagpur Vikas Aghadi and Shiv Sena (UBT).
The nomination process marks a key step in the selection of nominated members in the civic body.
