Vidarbha region continues to reel under an intense heatwave, with several cities recording temperatures above 42°C on Tuesday. Akola emerged as the hottest location at 44.2°C, followed closely by Amravati at 44.0°C and Wardha at 43.9°C.
Nagpur recorded 43.4°C, while Chandrapur and Gadchiroli reported 42.6°C each. Other districts including Buldhana (42.2°C), Yavatmal (42.8°C), Gondia (42.0°C), and Bhandara (41.0°C) also witnessed soaring temperatures.
Data for Washim was not available.In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for parts of Vidarbha, warning of continued high temperatures. Taking precautionary measures, the Wardha district administration has announced a holiday for all schools on Wednesday to ensure the safety of students.
Authorities have advised residents to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions as heatwave conditions are expected to persist over the next few days.
