The Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) will organise the Nisarga Anubhav 2026 (Waterhole Census) on May 1 to mark Buddha Poornima.The initiative offers nature enthusiasts a unique opportunity to experience overnight wildlife observation from machans set up near waterholes in the buffer zone of the reserve.
Online registration for the programme will be open on the official website from April 21 (11 am) to April 22 (5 pm). Applicants must be between 18 and 50 years of age.A total of 57 machans will be available, with a maximum of two participants allowed per machan. Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration will be confirmed only after successful online application and fee payment.
To encourage greater participation, TATR has reduced the fee from last year’s Rs 4,500 to Rs 3,500 per machan. This includes a non-refundable online registration fee of Rs 500 and Rs 3,000 (Rs 1,000 for guide charges and Rs 2,000 for Gypsy charges), payable at the safari gate.Selected participants must report to their allotted safari gate by 4 pm on May 1. The activity will conclude at 6 am on May 2. Transportation will be provided only through TATR-authorised vehicles.
