A hookah parlour being run under the cover of ‘Hush Hedge Cafe’ in Gokulpeth was uncovered during a late-night police raid carried out by a team from Ambazari Police Station.
The operation took place shortly after midnight on Saturday at the cafe located in Lakshmikrupa building on the main Gokulpeth road. During the raid, officials found that hookah was being served to customers in violation of existing regulations.Four customers were present at the time.
Police have registered a case against the cafe manager, Chandan Karnasingh Jaygadi (23), a resident of Kapil Nagar Chowk, along with Arhan Ahmed Ashfaq Ahmed (19) from Jafer Nagar and Takshak Yuvraj Bhavare (20), also from Kapil Nagar.
The cafe owner, Tejas Sanjay Sardar (28), a resident of Patankar Chowk, has also been booked in the case. He is currently absconding, and a search operation is underway to locate him.
