Marking Earth Day, a “Run, Walk, Clean” forest plogging drive was successfully organised on April 19 at Seminary Hills to spread awareness about environmental conservation and responsible waste disposal.
The initiative was led by Wild Agile Foundation under Swachh Survekshan 2025, with support from Nagpur Ploggers, DGS CAPS, and the PIU team of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.Held between 6:30 am and 9:30 am, the drive saw participation from around 250 volunteers. Clean-up activities were carried out at multiple forest entry points, with stalls providing gloves, masks, garbage bags, and sanitisers.The collective effort led to the collection of nearly 470 kg of waste, including 190 kg of plastic and 280 kg of other debris.
Prafull Deshmukh said the initiative aimed to instil a sense of environmental responsibility among citizens. Students from DGS CAPS also participated, with Pawan Sarda noting that the activity helped strengthen their connection with nature and awareness about conservation.
