Police have busted a spurious medicines racket and registered a case against a pharmaceutical firm along with multiple distributors for allegedly storing and selling counterfeit drugs.
During a raid at a pharma unit in Shantinagar, Drug Inspector Prashant Ramteke seized fake stocks of the life-saving medicine ‘Alburel’, used for critically ill patients.
Investigators said the main accused conspired with distributors based in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Hyderabad, along with Danish Khan from Delhi and Rajukumar Mishra from Chandigarh, to circulate the fake drugs between September 19 and December 17, 2025.
A case has been registered at Shantinagar Police Station under Sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 278 and 60(3)(5) of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
