The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Nagpur Division, will launch its new ‘Rajmata Jijau’ buses at a ceremony today at 12 noon at Niyojan Bhawan in Sadar. The event will be inaugurated by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.The buses feature a 3×2 seating arrangement with a capacity of around 45–46 passengers, offering improved comfort for commuters.
They are equipped with CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and GPS-based tracking systems for better safety and monitoring.Developed under the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), the buses will allow real-time tracking and efficient fleet management.
They are powered by BS6 engines, ensuring lower emissions and better fuel efficiency.The launch is part of a larger plan to introduce nearly 3,000 such buses across Maharashtra in phases.
