The Election Commission has launched a voter mapping exercise across Nagpur district as part of a special revision of electoral rolls, appealing to all voters to verify their details and complete the process to avoid deletion of names from the voter list.
The campaign is being carried out across all 12 Assembly constituencies in the district through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and polling centre supervisors. Officials have urged voters to contact concerned polling booth officials and complete the mapping process by submitting required documents.
According to election authorities, voters may be required to produce proof of their name appearing in the 2002 electoral roll or submit documents related to family members such as parents or grandparents. Married women may also need to furnish proof linked to their parental names in the 2002 voter list.
Officials said the exercise is mandatory and important for maintaining accurate electoral records. The administration has warned that failure to complete the voter mapping process could lead to removal of names from the electoral rolls. Citizens have been urged not to ignore the drive and cooperate with election officials.
