Bringing alive the richness of Indian classical dance, SPIC MACAY organized an Odissi dance recital by renowned exponent Sujata Mohapatra on the occasion of World Dance Day on Wednesday at Sai Sabhagruha. The performance offered a deeply enriching cultural experience to the audience.
The program commenced with Mangalacharan – Vishnu Vandana, creating a devotional ambiance. This was followed by captivating presentations such as Hansadhwani Pallavi, Sakhi He, Oriya Abhinaya, and Dashavatara, each leaving the audience spellbound. Every piece reflected a perfect blend of expression, rhythm, and grace.
The chief guests present on the occasion included Bhaskar Patil (President, Rashtrabhasha Sabha, Nagpur), Sunita Subhash Munje (Secretary, Rashtrabhasha Sabha, Nagpur), Abha Meghe (CEO, Meghe Group of Schools), and Dr. Nishatai Kulkarni (SPIC MACAY Nagpur Chapter). Representatives of the Odia community in Nagpur were also present.
The recital was supported by accomplished accompanists: Ekalabya Muduli (Mardala), Rajesh Kumar Lenka (Vocal), Soumyaranjan Joshi (Flute), and Asish Kumar Perei (Violin). Dancers Soumya Bose and Ankita Sengupta also contributed to the presentation.
The artists were felicitated by Abha Meghe, Pallavi Deshpande, and Ravi Satfale, while the chief guests were welcomed by Abha Parashar, Anil Kawade, and Vedant Mandavgade.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sanjay Rahate.
