Demonstrating promptness and humanitarian commitment, RPF Wardha successfully rescued a minor traveling alone under “Operation Nanhe Farishte.” The action was initiated following information received from DSCR Nagpur regarding a suspected unattended child traveling in Train No. 20857, Coach S/6, Berth No. 08.
Acting swiftly, ASI Shri Raju Mutkure and Woman Head Constable Smt. Kalpana Jadhav reached Platform No. 02 at Wardha station at 20:56 hrs and attended the train. During verification, it was found that the passenger who had shared the information had already deboarded before Wardha. However, based on inputs from co-passengers, an approximately 8-year-old boy was identified and safely escorted to RPF Post Wardha.
Upon inquiry, the child disclosed his name and stated that he had boarded the train alone from Durg station. He was unable to provide clear details about his family or guardians.
The matter was immediately reported to Sub-Inspector Shri Sanjay Yadav, and Child Helpline Wardha was informed. The child was taken to District General Hospital, Wardha for a routine medical examination. After completing all necessary formalities, he was handed over to Child Helpline representatives Shri Suraj Wankhede and Shri Santosh Done.
Central Railway, Nagpur Division, commends the alertness and dedicated efforts of RPF Wardha staff in ensuring the safety and well-being of the child.
