Today is the last day for the self-enumeration phase of the 16th National Census under the theme “Census for Public Welfare.” The digital registration process, which began in Nagpur on May 1, gives citizens a final opportunity to submit their details online before field surveys begin.
Mayor Neeta Thakre and Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin Itankar have appealed to residents to actively participate in the national exercise.Citizens can complete the process by visiting se.census.gov.in.
After filling out the online form, the head of the family will receive an 11-digit SE ID. Authorities said it is important to save this ID, as it must be shown to official enumerators during door-to-door verification visits.
Field operations across the city will begin from May 16 and continue till June 14. Around 4,500 enumerators and 700 supervisors will conduct surveys using the House Listing Operation (HLO) mobile application.Officials will collect information under 33 parameters, including housing details such as building number, construction materials used for walls and roofs, and the condition of the house.
Data related to family members, head of the family, social category, and facilities like drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and LPG connections will also be recorded.Dr Itankar has directed heads of all government departments to ensure that their staff complete the self-enumeration process within the deadline.
