The Transport Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has invited citizens to submit suggestions for new bus stops and bus shelters across the city to improve public transport facilities.
According to the department, commuters at many locations face inconvenience due to the lack of proper bus stops and shelters. To address these issues and make daily travel more convenient, residents have been asked to identify areas where such infrastructure is needed.
The initiative has been launched under the guidance of Mangala Zade, Chairperson of the NMC Transport Committee.She appealed to citizens to actively participate in strengthening the city’s public transport system and encouraged greater use of public transport for everyday travel.
The Transport Department said officials will inspect the locations suggested by residents and examine the feasibility of constructing bus stops and shelters wherever required.The civic body added that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting public transport and sustainable urban mobility.
