In a major inconvenience for passengers travelling between Nagpur and Mumbai, Air India has decided to suspend both its morning and evening flights on the route from June 1 to July 31. The temporary suspension is reportedly due to aircraft management and operational reasons.
The decision is expected to affect businessmen, working professionals and regular commuters who frequently travel between the two cities. The Nagpur-Mumbai route witnesses heavy passenger traffic daily, particularly for business activities, medical treatment, higher education and international flight connectivity through Mumbai airport.
Passengers are now likely to depend on alternative airlines or railway transport during the two-month period, which may lead to increased fares and travel inconvenience. Travel operators believe the suspension could significantly impact regular flyers from Vidarbha.
