Direct flight services between Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and Doha resumed on Wednesday, restoring an important international air link for passengers from Nagpur and the Vidarbha region.
The Qatar Airways service on the Nagpur–Doha route had remained suspended since February 27 following tensions linked to the Iran conflict. After military strikes involving the United States and Israel, the airline had temporarily halted operations to Nagpur as a precautionary measure.
Initially, the suspension was expected to continue only through March. However, it was later extended till May 15 and subsequently pushed further to September 15. With the situation now stabilising and passenger demand increasing, the airline has decided to resume regular operations on the route.
The Nagpur–Doha connection is considered a major international travel route for passengers heading to the Middle East, as well as onward destinations in Europe and the United States. Travellers from Nagpur, Vidarbha, and several parts of central India rely heavily on this service for overseas travel.
Under the revised summer schedule, flight timings have also been slightly changed. The Doha–Nagpur flight, which earlier arrived at 2:20 am, will now land at 2:45 am. Similarly, the Nagpur–Doha flight will now depart at 4:15 am instead of the earlier 3:50 am schedule.
