Children in the fast-growing Besa-Pipla area now have more spaces to play and spend time outdoors, with 11 new play parks developed across the locality. The initiative is aimed at providing safe recreational spaces for children while improving amenities in residential neighbourhoods.
The play parks have been set up at Anand Society, Sanskruti Layout, Jagannath Society, Padmavati Nagar, Seva Prime, Shivtirth-1, the Hanuman Mandir area near the petrol pump, Nilkamal Society, Pyramid City, Atharv Nagri, and Ramesh Estate-Rakesh Layout 3. Modern play equipment has been installed at these locations to encourage outdoor activities and physical exercise among children.
Officials said around Rs 2.2 crore has been spent on installing play equipment at these sites. The projects were approved during the 2024-25 financial year and carried out in different residential pockets of the Besa-Pipla region.
While most of the work has been completed, garden development projects near Anand Society and Process Server Society are still underway. According to Bharat Nandanwar, Chief Officer of Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat, the delay is due to landscaping and related civil works. Together, these projects are expected to cost around Rs 5.5 crore.
Several parks already feature trees, lawns, and green spaces alongside play equipment, creating a pleasant environment for children and families. Parks at Hanuman Mandir, Seva Prime, Ramesh Estate, Atharv Nagri, and Aditya Vihar are among those with integrated green areas.
Officials said maintenance work, including cleaning, repairs of play equipment, and upkeep of trees and lawns, is being carried out regularly. “Maintenance activities will continue to ensure that children have safe and well-maintained recreational spaces,” Nandanwar said.
The initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of families in the area by encouraging outdoor recreation and community engagement.
