A car seized by the police was stolen from the premises of Jaripatka Police Station in Nagpur. According to police officials, a man and a woman were involved in the theft.
The incident came to light during a routine inspection of the police station’s seized property section on Wednesday morning. Police officer Netra Umathe, who was overseeing the department in the absence of the regular staff member, discovered that a seized vehicle bearing registration number MH-31/FE-7966 was missing.
A review of the CCTV footage revealed that a man and a woman, both believed to be around 35 years old, entered the police station premises at approximately 3 pm on May 23. The footage allegedly shows the duo driving away with the impounded vehicle.
Following the discovery, the police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the suspects and recover the stolen car.
