The Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Indradhanush Group of Artists, will organise ‘Rangyatra-2’, a four-day painting workshop, from June 18 to 21. The event will feature 11 distinguished artists from Maharashtra, offering art enthusiasts an opportunity to witness diverse creative expressions under one roof.
The participating artists include Anagha Salpekar, Arvind Ghorpade, Damodar Arvikar, Nana Misal, Prashant Hardas, Rajendra Bhute, Rajendra Mahajan, Rajendra Sakalle, Swati Godbole, Vijay Jaiswal and Amit Gonade. Their works, spanning varied themes and artistic styles, are expected to be among the major attractions of the workshop.
Organisers said a special homage to Vidarbha’s late master painters will be the defining feature of this year’s camp. As part of the tribute, paintings by Bapurao Athawale, Bhau Samarth, Bhaiyaji Goswami, N.B. Dikhole, Dr Bhanjibhai Patankar, Prof Dhananjay Verma, Prof S.V. Saurkar, Prof D.B. Bele, Prof Waman Chincholkar, Prof Deepak Joshi and Sudhir Talmale will be displayed for visitors.
An exhibition of artworks created during the workshop will be held on June 20. Renowned sculptor Hiralal Vikamsi will inaugurate the exhibition, while noted art collector Gurdeep Singh Kapoor and Dr Chetna Raju Tank, Director of Lalita Public School, will grace the occasion as chief guests.
The organisers said the workshop aims to celebrate artistic excellence while honouring the rich legacy of Vidarbha’s art pioneers.
