The Ramtek Police have uncovered an alleged prostitution racket operating from a local lodge and booked its owner under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. A woman was rescued during the raid, and items worth over ₹21,000 were seized from the premises.
According to police officials, they received specific information that illegal prostitution activities were being carried out at King Restaurant and Lodging in Ramtek. Acting on the tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at the establishment.
During the operation, police detained Vishal Prakashsingh Solanki (45), a resident of Azad Ward in Ramtek. Preliminary investigations identified him as the owner of the lodge.
A search of the premises, conducted in the presence of witnesses, led police to Room No. 1, where they found a woman. During questioning, she allegedly told officers that Solanki had lured her with money and facilitated prostitution activities at the lodge for financial gain. She further alleged that he had provided the premises and compelled her to engage in the sex trade.
The woman was rescued and shifted to a safe location by the police.
During the raid, officers seized a mobile phone, cash, and other articles linked to the alleged offence. Based on the findings, Ramtek Police registered a case against Solanki under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Further investigation is underway.
