The district administration has put extensive security measures in place for the NEET re-examination scheduled to be held in Nagpur on Sunday, June 21. A total of 12,512 candidates are expected to appear for the exam across 30 centres in the city.
Given the controversies and allegations of irregularities surrounding previous NEET examinations across the country, authorities have classified the examination as highly sensitive and implemented a multi-layered security and monitoring plan.
The arrangements include enhanced security deployment, traffic and transport management, and facilities to ensure a smooth and fair examination process for students.
Nagpur Police will deploy around 800 personnel at examination centres across the city. Senior police officers at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) level will supervise security arrangements in their respective zones to ensure strict vigilance and prevent any malpractice.
Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy said all necessary steps have been taken to conduct the examination peacefully, securely and efficiently. He appealed to students and parents to cooperate with authorities and follow all examination guidelines.
Officials have advised candidates to reach their examination centres well in advance to avoid last-minute delays and ensure smooth entry procedures.
The administration remains on high alert throughout the examination period to ensure transparency, security and the smooth conduct of the re-test.
