The 104th annual Urs of Sufi saint Tajuddin Baba will begin on Wednesday and continue till July 19, drawing thousands of devotees from across India and abroad to Tajabad for the 12-day religious festival.
Organised by the Tajuddin Baba Trust, the Urs will feature a range of religious and social programmes, including Milad Sharif, Takrir, Qawwali, Mehfil-e-Zikr, Naat-o-Manqabat, Salato Salam and Dua, to be held daily at the dargah.The celebrations will commence with the traditional Rasme Parcham Kushai ceremony at 9 am under the guidance of Sayyid Yusuf Iqbal Taji and the presidency of Ameer-e-Shariat Mufti.
Religious scholar Maulana Sayyad Aale Mustafa, trust chairman Pyare Khan, secretary Taj Ahmad Raja, vice-president Dr Surendra Jichkar, trustees Farooqbhai Bwelam, Haji Imran Khan Taji, Gajendrapal Singh Holia, Mustafabhai Topiwala and Sayyad Mobin Taji, along with other dignitaries, will attend the inaugural ceremony.
Shrimant Pancham Raje Raghuji Bhonsle will perform the traditional Parcham Kushai ritual.Major events during the Urs include the Shahi Sandal procession on July 12, the Urs Mela, religious discourses, devotional programmes and qawwali performances.
