The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cancelled the food business licence of Shree Heera Sweets after a dead rat was found at its production unit in Panchpaoli during an inspection. The action has led to the suspension of all manufacturing and sale of food products at the establishment.
According to FDA officials, the inspection was carried out on July 3, when a dead rat was discovered in the food preparation area. The presence of the rodent was considered a serious violation of food safety norms and a potential risk to public health.
Following the inspection, the FDA initiated action against the establishment. After completing its inquiry, the department concluded that the unit had violated food safety regulations and revoked its food business licence. As a result, the production and sale of sweets and other food items have been halted until further orders.
