Nagpur city received a massive 104.5 mm of rainfall between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm (IST) on Monday, leading to widespread waterlogging and disruption in several parts of the city. The intense downpour inundated roads and low-lying areas, severely affecting traffic and normal life.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur, has issued an Orange Warning for Nagpur and Bhandara districts. The weather department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds of 40–50 kmph, and moderate to heavy rainfall at scattered places over the next few hours.
Neighbouring districts including Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia remain under a Yellow Warning for thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds of 30–40 kmph, and light rainfall at isolated places, while Akola, Buldhana, and Washim have been warned of isolated light rain.
