The All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) welcomed a fresh batch of students to its Sanitary Inspector Diploma Course on Sunday, marking the beginning of the July 2026 academic session with an orientation programme focused on career prospects in the sanitation and public health sector.
The inaugural event was held at the Dr. Hedgewar Blood Centre auditorium, where Dr. Shriram Gogulwar, Principal of the Maharashtra Government’s Health and Family Welfare Training Centre, addressed the students. He encouraged them to make the most of the course by gaining practical knowledge and professional skills, stating that well-trained sanitary inspectors are in demand across government departments, local bodies and private organisations.
Highlighting the importance of professional training, Dr. Gogulwar said students who combine academic learning with field experience will have better employment opportunities after completing the diploma.
Jayant Pathak, Divisional Director of AIILSG, introduced students and parents to the institute’s long-standing contribution to local governance and professional education. He explained how the Sanitary Inspector Diploma Course equips candidates with the knowledge and technical expertise required to pursue careers in sanitation management, public health and municipal administration.
The inaugural programme was attended by nearly 200 students along with their parents, besides faculty members and institute officials. The event concluded with an interaction session followed by a vote of thanks.
