The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for schools to submit affiliation applications through the SARAS 7.0 Portal for the 2027-28 academic session. Schools across all affiliation categories will now be able to complete the online application process until September 30.
The extension has been granted after the Board reviewed disruptions caused by technical issues that left the SARAS 7.0 Portal inaccessible for a period, affecting schools’ ability to complete the application process.
In addition to extending the application window, CBSE has announced relaxations for schools whose applications were already submitted but remained incomplete because of the portal outage. Such institutions will now have 30 days from the date of the notification to upload the required “compliance after grant” documents.
Schools required to furnish “compliance after deficiency at Part A level” have also been given an additional 15 days from the notification date to complete the pending formalities.
The Board has further clarified that all connected activities linked to the affiliation process will be rescheduled accordingly. These include obtaining consent from Inspection Committee members, scheduling and finalising inspection dates, conducting inspections, submission of inspection reports and other time-bound procedures.
The revised timelines have been approved by the Competent Authority of the CBSE and will apply to all affected schools under the SARAS 7.0 affiliation process.
