Aditya Pannase, a student of Raisoni Group of Engineering College, Hingna has invented a ‘Multifunctional Material Handling Device.’ He is a student of M.Tech (CAD/CAM). The device is invented especially for labourers, vegetable vendors, farm workers, who carry heavy load in their daily life, which is dangerous for their medical health and can cause serious medical problems. Such as musculoskeletal disorder, neck pain, back pain, muscle pain, lower back pain, spondylitis etc. caused due to carrying heavy weight/load on head or shoulders.
When asked about the motivation to invent such device, Aditya said that he cerebrated about the social problems, which have been prevailing in our society since a long time. We witness people carrying heavy weight on their heads and travel from one place to another on regular basis to meet their daily requirements. That’s when he thought of making a ‘Multifunctional material handling device’. The device can be reassembled in eight different types and is easy to use.
He added that he was highly inspired by ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for India’ campaign, which was launched by Prime Minister, Narenrda Modi. He wanted to contribute to the society’s welfare and therefore started working on the project.
The device is an 8 in 1 device. The child parts of the device can be rearranged for different purposes. There is no such 8 in 1 multifunctional device in the world, says Aditya.
Out of the 8 devices, one of the devices is named as Head Load Carrier, which can be used to carry heavy loads from one place to another. The gear has a roof like structure which works as a carrier for heavy weights.
The ‘Multifunctional Material Handling Device’ is a patented innovation. Aditya won 1st prize in Nagpur University ‘AVISHKAR’ Research competition for the device. He has also represented Nagpur University at the State level. The device has won Raman Innovation Award, which was recently organised by Raman Science Centre. Aditya informed that “Multifunctional Material Handling Device†has been selected for National Award, at National Rural Entrepreneurs Meet 2019.
Aditya says “I am working on three more projects, which addresses the social problems of the society and will try to develop something innovative to solve the different problems prevailing in the societyâ€
