Notorious goon killed at Golibar Square, five booked

Suspecting his role as a police informer, a notorious goon was brutally murdered by a gang of five rivals at Golibar Square under the jurisdiction Tehsil police on Sunday night.

Police have booked accused Roshan Chichghare (22), Ankush Chichghare (25), Sachin Chichghare, Nitin alias Macchi and Rahul all residents of Pachpaoli area under various Sections of IPC.

According to police, all the accused held a grudge against the deceased identified as Ankit alias Ammu Raju Dhakate (21) a resident of Pachpaoli owing to his clout in the area and they also suspected him to be a police informer.

To settle score with Ankit, all the accused reportedly accosted him near Golibar Square and attacked him with wooden raft and sharp weapons and leaving him soaked in blood all the accused fled the spot.

Subsequently, the severely injured Ankit was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Pune based businessman robbed of Rs 11 lakh at city hot

An unidentified burglar robbed a Pune-based businessman of Rs 11 lakh cash by using duplicate key to enter in his CA Road hotel room between Thursday night and wee hours of Sunday.

As per the police sources, a 58-year-old Satish Jugalchand Sethia had come to Nagpur on May 3and was staying at Room No. 405 at Hotel India Sun in Gandhibagh. Satish was carrying a bag comprising cash Rs 11 lakh. Between 9 pm of Thursday and 5.20 am of Sunday, an unidentified miscreant entered his hotel room using duplicate key and stole the cash. The theft came to fore on early Sunday morning, following which he registered a case with Tehsil police.

Tehsil police have booked anonymous burglar under Sections 454, 457, 380 of the IPC and launched a manhunt.

11 members of two families booked for illegal assembly in Hudkeshwar

Chaos triumphed Hudkeshwar locality on Sunday evening, when 11 members of the two families accused each other of accosting and thrashing. Though the exact reason behind the two families clashing with each other could not be ascertained yet, cops have booked 11 members the two families under the relevant Sections of the IPC.

The trouble started when the accused Rahul Lonare (30), Paresh Dilip Lonare (26), Chhotu Dilip Lonare (24), Dilip Lonare (55), Kirti Ashok Shirpurkar (32) and Bhagyashri Rahul Lonare (26), all residents of Sharda Square, Kailas Nagar gathered in front of house of Satish Pandurang Lonare (42), resident of Munje Square, Mahal and thrashed him and his mother over an old dispute.

Following compliant of Satish, Hudkeshwar police booked all the accused under relevant Sections.

However, in a counter compliant Rahul Manohar Lonare (34), told police that he was at shop on Sunday evening. When accused Pushpa Lonare (67), Satish Lonare (42), Amit Lonare (40) residents of Zenda Square along with Ashok Shirpurkar (40) and Dinesh Shirpurkar (450 arrived at Rahul’s shop and hurled abused at him. The accused also reportedly ransacked his shop.

Same offences have been registered in this connection. Further investigation is underway.

Housebreaking in Pratap Nagar, valuables worth Rs 4.4 lakh stolen

Some unidentified miscreants barged into a house in Dindayal Nagar under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar police and fled with cash Rs 50,000 besides diamond and gold ornaments to the tune of Rs 4.71 lakh between Saturday and Monday.

According to police sources, Ravindra Thodge, a resident of Flat No. 79, Devdatt Niwas, Dindayal Nagar, Friends Co. Op. Housing Society No. 4 had went to his in-laws house between Saturday and Monday. In the meantime, some anonymous miscreants had gained entry in his house by breaking the latch of the rear door on the first floor. The accused subsequently fled with diamonds rings, gold ornaments and cash Rs 50,000 kept in an iron almirah.

The burglary came to fore on Monday morning, when Thodge returned home, only to find his house in ransacked state.

Following the compliant of a 47-year-old Dushant Narayanrao Deshpande, Pratap Nagar police have registered a case under Sections 454, 457, 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and started the probe.
