Man killed in Gittikhadan

A body of a 30-year-old man with severe head injuries was found near Hazari Pahad Trikoni Park in Wayusena Nagar on Thursday night under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station.

Deceased has been identified as Rahul Vitthalrao Salame, a resident of Wayusena Nagar.

According to police sources, some locals first spotted the body lying in Hazari Pahad Trikoni Park premises and alerted Puja, wife of deceased and also alerted cops. Police discovered severe head injuries on Rahul’s head caused by sharp weapons.

Gittikhadan police have booked the unidentified murder under Section 302 of the IPC and started the probe.

Tea stall burned over property dispute in Khamla

Good collectively of Rs 3 lakh were turned to ashes, when a man set a fire to a tea-stall in Khamla Juni Basti near Somalwar School on Thursday night. Pratapnagar police have booked accused identified as Nikhil Haridas Sontakke in this connection.

According to police, complainant Amit Ajay Hadke (27), a resident of Khamla owns a tea-stall besides Somalwar School. Accused Nikhil claims that the premises in which Amit operates his business, belong to him, however, Amit echoes the same. The property dispute had often led arguments between the duo in the past but the duo failed to derive any conclusions.

On Thursday night, furious over the issue Nikhil reportedly set a blaze on tea-stall and burned the goods worth Rs 3 lakh along with it.

Based on the complaint filed by Amit, Pratapnagar police have booked accused Nikhil under Section 435 of IPC and launched the investigation.
