Several parents staged demonstration on Sunday at Samvidhan Square under the banner of Jagrut Palak Samiti to protest against the exorbitant fees taken by the private schools in the city and elsewhere in the State.

They also threatened to intensify the stir if no action is taken by the government to regulate fee structure of private schools.

Parents raised slogans against the private school managements and demanded to reduce the fee. They said, annual fees are increased every year by the school management making it hard for the middle class to send their wards to these schools.

After staging demonstration at Samvidhan Square a delegation of parents met union minister for road transport, highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari. He was apprised of the situation. After patiently hearing their problems, Gadkari possible help to the parents.

He also ensured the parents that efforts will be taken to improve the standard of education in the municipal corporation schools in the city.

Yogesh Pathre, Ajay Kajne, Priyanka Hadke, Smita Kajne and Vishwanath Deshmukh were in the delegation which met Gadkari. They thanked the Union minister for giving time to them and paying attention to their problems.
