Teachers strike turned violent in Gondia

The teachers of Gondia District are demonstrating a strike under the banner of Maharashtra State Unaided Higher Middle Action Committee over the demand of salaries against the state government. The strike that started from August 9, 2019, in front of Zilla Parishad office, on the 12th day took a violent turn after the enraged teachers vandalized the middle education officer’s office.

As per the sources, due to the strike, the absence of the teachers at the school was affecting the students following which the students reached the education office.

After hearing the complaints of the students, the officials said that the students should not take admissions in any unaided schools. The students on the strike got angry over the statement and demanded an apology by the officer.

The aggressive teachers vandalized all the office furniture. Later the cops arrived at the spot and took the teachers to the police station.
